The Cleansing Oil Edit

Is there anything better than the feeling of having clean skin at the end of a long day? Without a doubt, wearing makeup for at least twelve hours means washing everything off at the end of the day is something I always look forward to. One of my favourite formulas I always reach for is a good cleansing oil mainly due to their speed and efficacy.

Starting with a classic, the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. Definitely a cult classic, 1 is sold every 10 seconds worldwide, so I know I'm not the only one who has a soft spot for it. With a base of olive oil the formula is antioxidant rich and nourishing on the skin - one rinsed off using a flannel it leaves the complexion smooth and balanced. An even more lightweight option would be the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery; part of the same family as the iconic overnight treatment, this one smells of lavender so it's a dreamy pick to use pre-snooze. I find it has a similar texture to the treatment in that it's more of a dry texture oil so it takes a tint bit more rubbing into the skin.

I think the take the day off cleansing balm is best know, but the oil version might just be the winner in my opinion... it's so silky-soft and instantly melts away all my makeup. The added bonus being it doesn't leave too much of a film on my eyes, so I don't get the dreaded blurry vision. I'd say that this would also be pick for those concerned about oils leaving behind a greasy film as this doesn't leave skin feeling sticky or heavy in the slightest.

Do you have any cleansing oil favourites?
