Purple is my favourite colour, and I seem to gravitate towards anything purple hued. It can look a little vampy though, and so I've got some ways to wear it that suit my style (I think), and tie it all together.
I tend to wear pink-toned eyeshadows - the picture below is a mix of By Terry ombre blackstar in misty rock and the Naked 3 palette. The two similar tones sort of tie it nicely together. I also wear a plummy blush, but not loads because the focus is all on the lips. I never bother with eyeliner, or a smokey eye or heavy contouring or anything, because you want your lips to be the statement.
In the photo I'm wearing MAC Heroine, which is the best lipstick ever, with a By Terry gloss on top. I would typically keep it matte because I think it looks a bit modern, but the gloss adds a certain je ne sais quoi, and keeps it a bit more glamorous.
Lastly, have some confidence! 2 years ago I would have been too scared to wear this, but makeup is just stuff you paint on your face for fun at the end of the day, and if you want to wear your favourite colour - go for it! :)
