Summer Perfume edit.

Summer perfume edit

Smells like summer today. Yes, it's actually sunny and it's actually the weekend so I can go outside and enjoy the sunshine instead of looking at it longingly from my desk. I'm just too excited. One of the best bits about summer is surely partaking in the quest to become a summer girl? All care free, in summer dresses and with amazing wavy hair. One of the easiest ways to fake that you're a summer girl (because it comes neither naturally nor gracefully to me) is with a delicious fragrance. Spritz yourself all over - do a little shimmy into the path of the perfume - and enjoy. I've been rotating three of my favourite summer scents in the last few weeks.

My holiday perfume, and the one that makes me happy every time I smell it is Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia. I wore this everyday in Barcelona last year, and the smell reminds me of holiday. Delicious stuff. It's so fresh and mouth-wateringly good. Like really juicy and fresh pears with the freesia and then it has some amber in it as well. Ahhh *spritzes all over self*

If I had to pick a favourite of the three right now it would be Vivienne Westwood Naughty Alice. I was having a read of the official description and god I would love to write about perfumes. Such a load of utter bullshit. A rebellious fragrance. The perfect example of modern femininity. Basically, a floriental in that it has an almost powdery rose and violet scent, rounded off nicely by some ylang ylang so things will never get too sweet or cloying. Addictive.

Diptyque L'ombre dans l'eau is the heaviest of the bunch. When first spritzed, this smells heady and very strong - do not let this put you off. Once the fragrance has mingled with your skin for about 5-10 minutes, things start to get amazing. This is definitely a classy and sophisticated little number. It is the perfume version of the Baies candle, and smells like blackcurrant leaves and bulgarian roses (according to Dip).

What is your go to summer perfume?
